Phew, I think you're done!
Hopefully that all went smoothly for you and you've got a shiny new computer that runs much faster and doesn't get infected with nasties.
A lot of Ubuntu users like to customise the look of their machine. It’s extremely easy to completely change the way your desktop looks and behaves with Ubuntu, thanks to the flexibility of its Gnome Desktop Environment. The website Gnome-Look.org has tons of ready-made wallpapers, themes, skins, icon sets, etc. Go nuts!
Just remember that any problems you have using Ubuntu are fixable. Go to the Ubuntu forums and search/ask for help. Hell, if you mess it up really badly, just reinstall the whole thing! It's free software, so you can wipe and reinstall, try different versions, break things totally, and do whatever you want. Since reinstalling is so fast and painless it's sometimes the best thing to do if you've really broken something. If you do ever reinstall just make sure that you don’t format your /home partition when you reinstall. All your files and settings will be magically untouched! That’s why a /home partition is so good to have.
Zem Sez:
Woohoo! Overall, not as scary as I thought (think it was this helpful guide) However, it did take a while and i'm all computered-out now. Time for a large drink!
